As a small organisation with very experienced and capable staff, each project is led by a director who manages day to day activities. This means our clients have direct contact with a decisionmaker that is fully accountable.
Benchmark Consulting team consists of three directors with complementary skills, offering end-to-end process support from inception, into design and preconstruction, and through construction, handover, and aftercare.​

Benchmark Consulting has grown out of a desire to serve clients with capable personnel. We understand the extensive investment that goes into a project before anything is physically in place on site.
We want to ensure that our clients receive the best preconstruction experience and are not left with unresolved issues or surprises that will occur during construction delivery.
We focus on getting the best out of the preconstruction process in addition to administering project activities.
We think about everything from a construction delivery point of view while managing the design process. We resolve the transition between the two; and then ensure that this is clearly reflected within packages for tender in order to capture costs and generate best value for our clients.

Better Preconstruction
Based on our extensive main contractor experience, we understand the benefits of the ECI process with contractors and subcontractors and are able to leverage this in the bests interests of the project. We treat preconstruction as though we are the project sponsor and therefore manage this solely against what is important to our clients. We share information openly with other design consultants, allowing us to inform each phase, understand delivery, and reduce cost risk. We do all of this while we run the design process, programme the project, provide cost planning advice, and prepare for documentation for tender.

Focus on Process
We focus on process, and believe that managing this correctly will set the project up for successful construction delivery. We focus on making this experience better for everyone involved and dealing with issues during the preconstruction period. We do not focus on administration or recording and pushing issues into construction. We have developed process hold points that avoid missunderstanding of client requirements and brief, and prevent rework. Simply put, our desire is to have everything tidy for a tender so there are no surprises later on.

Access and Competency
Each project will have a director managing all processess. Our directors focus on how the process is functioning and eliminating risks, frustrations, incorrect decisions, and issue avoidance. As we are experienced, we have no trouble having difficult conversations to get the best outcome for our clients. We also do not overcommit to projects and because we ensure that our directors are actively involved in managing the preconstruction process, we are restricted to the amount of work that we can take on.
